Google Android 4 Revealed Officially
The wait is finally over. Google and Samsung just unveiled the latest version of Android OS called Android Ice Cream Sandwich. It’s also called as the Android 4.0 OS, the next big version of Android after Android Honeycomb OS. Together in Hong Kong, they also unveiled the most powerful and amazing Android phone till date : the Google GalaxyNexus.
To begin with, Google Android 4.0 is amazingly wonderful. It totally supports a new UI with dramatic improvements in the visual and functional interfaces. What you see, is speed, speed and speed. The next big improvement is the user interface design which is a lot more enticing than ever, and even more simpler.
In short, it’s the most polished version of Android, and with tons of features and improvements over the previous releases. Google debuted Android Beam and Face Unlock, two of the most interesting features from the board. Android Beam uses built-in NFC sensor to share stuff (like youtube videos, webpages, photos) with other phones by just tapping the two.
The Face Unlock feature, as you’d have guessed, enables users to unlock their devices with their faces. It doesn’t take a lot of them or should we say, it is just as quick as the swipe-to-unlock feature but a lot more secure. The Face Unlock feature can be configured to identify your face by recording a capture, and then mapping your face from the camera’s view with the master data (the captured photo) to unlock it.
The feature first debuts in Google’s Galaxy Nexus phone and so does the Android Beam. Google also introduced a new font called Roboto that takes advantage of HD displays to deliver text in the best possible way. Android 4.0 features enhanced functionality in almost every app that comes default with the OS. (more…)
