One of the most anticipated affairs of 2012 is the iPhone 5 design. Rumors are that the phone was due to be launched on October 4th, 2011 but many fans got disappointed when the iphone which was launched turned out to be iPhone 4S.
Back in April 2011, the iPhone 5 design was revealed by Apple. This design gained much popularity amongst the fans. Much of the design publicity had resulted from Chinese companies, who copied the design and flooded the market instantly, and hence made huge profits out of it. Chinese companies also supplied the market with fake casings of the phone which triggered various reactions from the fans. Many retailers even accepted the rumors and started selling these casings thinking that these were real iPhone 5 design casings. On the contrary, the media did not get any evidence of any connection between the casings and the new iPhone 5 design.
Another report which surfaced later on was that Foxconn factory leaked the casing design. Foxconn had been working with Apple for a considerably long duration of time. This rumor was generally accepted by the masses as Foxconn had a good reputation and people did tend to think that this was an actual prototype and not just some wild guess or cheap Chinese make.
The iPhone 5 design trademark has also been speculated and thought upon. Apple has shown no intention on releasing it either. Many supporters think that the iPhone 5 design which had been promoted by the Chinese will eventually surface in 2012. This is because the design also matches the Foxconn design and many similarities are directly visible and relatable amongst them. It consisted of a tapered design with a much thinner look. Also, the design was advertized in a white body – contrast to iPhone 6 design rumors of curved glass display.
Many unnamed sources have reported to have said that Apple is planning to add certain features to the iPhone 5 design that were previously excluded from it. These include a larger (about four inch) screen and a much deeper color display. The construction of the headset will also be revised. Furthermore, the material which comes in contact with the hands of the customers will also be modified so that phone slipping is minimized and the customer is able to handle the phone with ease. Sources say that this material is bound to be aluminum and the front bezel will be made out of plastic which will enable radio signals to pass through without interruption. This will give better reception even in remote areas. The will also eliminate any need of built in antennas and 3G + wi-fi connections could be easily made.
The glass front will be attached with the aluminum with a classified material which will ally the benefits of strength with toughness and durability. The source continued to add that the iPhone will be launched by fall 2012. Steve Jobs put a lot of effort in the iPhone 5 design. This effort will erupt and come into consideration as soon as iPhone 5 is released.
